They paid for a new furnace, new water heater, new well pump, just to mention a few things. Yes, I had to pay my deductible each time, but the $500 600 warranty paid for itself over and over in that home. I would rather have paid the $500 600 and never had to call on them. I would have probably been like everyone else out there complaining that they are a big waste, but when you have a claim that would have cost you hundreds to thousands of dollars, writing a check for the $50 deductible is relatively painless. I found this website while looking to purchase a home warranty on a home we are about to buy, and I will have no regrets, especially if I never need to use it. Take a moment to add up how much you have spent on auto insurance. If you have never used it, you might have been able to buy a car with the money, but it only takes one claim, one lawsuit, to make that 'expense' a worthy investment!Best wishes. You are talking about home warranty plans from years ago, things have changed in the last few years. They do not, I repeat DO NOT replace things anymore. They will part it and piece it together over and over again and at $60 a visit from a tech it adds up. I even upgraded to a premium plan.

A basic home warranty covers a wide range of items, including types of built in appliances, the exhaust system and plumbing and electrical systems. A home warranty plan usually does not cover garage door openers, automatic garage door systems and air conditioners. Homeowners can purchase extended coverage that will pay for damage and repairs to those items. Most warranty companies offer multiple policies and levels of coverage. Many people add extra coverage that protects items usually not covered by these programs, including central vacuuming systems, swimming pools, wells and home spas. On 5/26/2018, I opened a claim for our washer which was starting to fail. They sent a repair guy to confirm the issue a few days later and collect the $100 deductible. A week after that, HWA informed me that I could either opt for a cash payout or order a replacement washer. I opted for the replacement washer. It is now 6/11/2018, and we are still waiting for our replacement washer. I called HWA's claims department and was informed that the manufacturer of our washer GE would be contacting us for a delivery date by 6/21/2018.

The customers we dealt with would become so angry and desperate they would literally harass and threaten us. It's illogical to believe you can get anything substantial for the mere $75 service fee the customer pays, which, in most cases, is all we could charge for the entire service call. Hence, the denials, long wait times and band aid repairs. Paying customers always come first, regardless of how many newborns are involved. Every household in America contains someone who doesn't need to be hot or cold. If we charged the home warranty company more than $25 $50 in addition to what the customer paid, if we were lucky enough to collect the service fee, we would be threatened by the home warranty company, as all these calls were averaged and the total cost per call average had to stay below $200, or we were gone.
