I felt a little worn out and breathless by the time I finished the book and I enjoyed every minute of the journey. Sometimes the hints are just too obvious to miss. Warshawski novels is that the sharp-tongued, short-tempered detective often seems to be following clues that lead not just to the heart of whatever mystery is at hand, but also into the red-hot center of the zeitgeist itself. I love the character-a strong, opiniated, brassy and bold female who has no dependancy on a man, on social norms. For most of the book V.

The characters are mostly caricatures and the political ranting is annoying and not relevant to the story. I did find myself reading late into the night as I was finishing Breakdown so I did get sucked in. Sara paretsky breakdown to Book Page. It was poorly written, and the over zealous characters is nothing more than an immature attempt to bully the other party. There was lots of action including multiple murders and a very complicated mystery regarding w I have read all of Paretsky’s V. Not because of the subject, but because we had VI demanding that she somehow be told about what was a painful period in his life. Nearby lies a murdered man with a stake in his heart.
The storyline meandered all over the map and the reader meandered along with it through the various neighborhoods of Chicago. They were both so different from the usual female detecctives of the time. Warshawski novels was published. Several girls under her charge are unaccounted for, and she is worried.
She really described the divisive political age we live in. But she gives as good as she gets. But it has taken me a long time to get it!
If you’re a fan of Bill O’Reilly, you probably won’t like Breakdown, since he is clearly a model for the faux populist, parets,y ranter Wade Lawlor, who is pilloried in the novel. A ‘Breakdown’ Full Of Thrills, Chills And Social Ills
When Sara paretsky breakdown goes looking, she discovers the seven girls in an abandoned graveyard, ostensibly there to attempt to reach some form of contact with the characters in a well-read series of vampire books. What seems to be a single, if ornate mystery turns even more complex, with subplots sprouting up faster than mold on a mausoleum.
She also has aged realistically over the years – which is nice since she was my age in oaretsky early 80’s when I first discovered paretsy.
Paretsky is an excellent writer. As always Vic is at the center of everything, this time both through accident and intention. I heaved a sigh of release when I finally came to the end of this latest novel from Ms. Warshawski 15 by Sara Paretsky Goodreads Author.
